Our Process
BTM partners with culturally humble clinicians, doulas, lactation professionals, and community educators to deliver evidence based perinatal education that reflects the real lived experience of Black families. We start by listening to what Black women are saying they need, then translate trusted clinical guidance into clear, practical language that can be used in real time during pregnancy and postpartum.
We design every session and resource to be easy to access, easy to understand, and aligned to the moments that matter most, from early pregnancy through the postpartum window. Our workshops and micro lessons focus on what to watch for, what to do next, and how to advocate for respectful care, with clear pathways to follow up support when additional care is needed.
We review content for accuracy, relevance, and cultural resonance, and we continuously improve based on community feedback, participation patterns, and what families tell us is working. Our goal is simple: deliver timely, evidence based information through messengers you can trust, so birth can be sacred, safe, and supported.

Our Collaboration
We collaborate with community based partners who already have the trust of Black families, including doulas, clinics, faith based institutions, and local advocates. Together, we bring education and support into the spaces where new and expectant parents already gather, online and in real life, so people do not have to search for help in the middle of a high stress moment.
We meet families where they are by offering mobile friendly resources, live virtual workshops, and on demand recordings that can be accessed on a schedule that works for them. Our content is designed to be practical, respectful, and actionable, and it is delivered in ways that feel familiar, welcoming, and culturally grounded.
We are continually looking for opportunities to expand our reach and deepen our impact through new partnerships, stronger referral pathways, and broader access to evidence based information. As we grow, we stay anchored in community voice and community leadership, because the most effective education is the kind that is built with the people it is meant to serve.

Our Village
Our village is made up of Black women, new and expectant parents, doulas, lactation professionals, clinicians, researchers, community leaders, and trusted partners who believe birth should be sacred, safe, and supported. We are guided by the voices of the people we serve, and strengthened by practitioners who lead with cultural humility, evidence based care, and deep respect for Black families.
This village is how we keep our work grounded and real. It helps us translate clinical guidance into everyday language, share resources that people can use immediately, and connect families to support beyond our workshops when they need more. We are always growing our village, because every new partner, educator, and community connector expands what is possible for Black families, and brings us closer to a world where positive outcomes do not depend on who you know.

Our Goal
Our goal is to make pregnancy and postpartum support easier to access, easier to understand, and easier to act on for Black women and Black families. We deliver evidence based education in clear language, paired with practical next steps, so families can make informed decisions, recognize warning signs, and advocate for respectful care.
We are building a future where positive outcomes do not depend on who your mama knows. They come from knowledge shared, voices believed, and community support that shows up on time.
