At Birthing the Magic Collaborative, we curate culturally grounded perinatal education designed for Black birthing people and those who support them. Our workshops bring together trusted experts, lived experiences, and evidence-based knowledge to separate fact from fiction and provide information that is both credible and compassionate.

We believe that Black motherhood is a birthright, not a battle. Our sessions are safe, affirming spaces where Black women and families can learn, connect, and leave empowered with tools for healthier pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences.

Workshops are open to expecting parents, new parents, grandparents, doulas, nurses, community members—anyone who is committed to supporting safe and joyful birth outcomes for Black families.

🕒 Please note: All workshop times are listed in Eastern Time.

All Together Now: Care. Connection. Community.

The news is heavy, and you are still expected to keep going. If you are carrying family, work, and everyone else’s needs, this conversation is for you.

Join a candid, nonjudgmental discussion on caring for yourself while caring for others. We will talk about connection, boundaries, and the kind of community support that actually helps. Leave more grounded, more connected, and with a clearer plan to protect your well being.

Featuring Dr. Joy L. Baker-Leakes, OB and nationally recognized speaker on perinatal mental health, and Dr. Chyna Hill, leader of The Black Girls Mental Health Foundation, sharing culturally grounded insight and practical support for Black women.

Hosted by Ajoa Ayesu-Greenlee (CPD, CLC, NPE), founder of Lotus Ring Postpartum Care and a full spectrum postpartum doula and lactation counselor supporting families through the fourth trimester.

Starting January 22 ~ Whole You: Nourish, Move, Peace, and Community

A four part series for new and expectant mamas who want care for their whole selves, not only their charts and lab results.

Led by Dr. Andrea Lee, an OB GYN and integrative medicine physician, and Sydney Lockhardt, a researcher and advocate for maternal well being, this series offers clear, grounded guidance for feeling fed, supported, and emotionally steady in this season of life.

Across four sessions, we explore how food can nourish you and your baby, how movement can help your body feel more at ease, how to find real peace in a hectic life, and how to release the pressure to always be the strong one by leaning into community and soul care.

Build Community: Connections That Carry You

In this conversation, we will explore why community matters and what real support can look like in this season, including the holidays and milestones that can quietly amplify what you are carrying. We will name the cost of always holding it together, then share simple, honest ways to invite connection and soul level care that feel natural, not forced.
