Marie founded Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM) with Dr. Valencia Walker. This initiative leveraged her extensive experience collaborating with healthcare professionals, executives, and leaders within some of the nation’s largest hospital systems and professional associations. This strategic expertise enabled her to identify systemic gaps and craft solutions to address the alarming rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among Black birthing people.

Marie’s leadership is rooted in both professional acumen and personal insight. During her daughter's high-risk twin pregnancy, she strategically assembled a culturally competent and highly skilled care team, ensuring an exceptional perinatal experience. This process underscored the transformative impact of equitable access to resources and networks, inspiring her to co-create BTM with Dr. Valencia Walker.

Through BTM, Marie employs a results-driven approach to empower Black birthing people by providing virtual access to perinatal and pediatric experts. This platform facilitates critical connections, delivers culturally relevant education, and equips families with advocacy tools to navigate healthcare systems effectively.

In addition to leading BTM, Marie is a seasoned consultant specializing in guiding small and midsized businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations. She offers expertise in strategic planning, business development, and nonprofit compliance, including crafting comprehensive business plans, securing 501(c)(3) status, and navigating IRS regulations. Marie’s ability to build frameworks for sustainable growth has made her a trusted resource for organizations aiming to amplify their impact.
