Marie Boone-Clark
Founder & Managing Director
Marie Boone-Clark is the co-founder of Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM), a national initiative dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes for Black families through culturally grounded, expert-led education. With decades of experience working alongside hospital systems, clinicians, and nonprofit leaders, Marie brings a unique blend of strategic insight and deep community connection to her work.
The idea for BTM was born from personal experience. When her daughter faced a high-risk twin pregnancy, Marie was able to draw on her professional background and trusted relationships to assemble a care team that offered respectful, culturally aligned support. That experience highlighted what’s possible when Black families are met with care, not barriers—and what’s at stake when they’re not.
Through BTM, Marie works to ensure Black birthing people have access to the knowledge, tools, and advocacy support they need to thrive. She also consults with small businesses and nonprofit leaders, guiding them through strategic growth, organizational development, and 501(c)(3) formation.
Marie’s work is rooted in the belief that Black motherhood is a birthright, not a battle.
