Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM) was born from Marie’s extensive collaborations with healthcare professionals and executives across some of the nation's largest hospital systems and professional associations.

This exposure to the emerging research on the subject illuminated the alarming rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among Black birthing people, fueling Marie’s passion for maternal health and reproductive justice.

Marie’s commitment deepened after a pivotal personal experience during her daughter's high-risk twin pregnancy. Marie, her daughter, and her husband assembled a culturally humble and highly skilled team to ensure her perinatal experience was magical.

This experience revealed the transformative impact of having the right resources for a safe birth journey. Marie realized that not all Black birthing people have access to these critical resources and networks, leading her to partner with Dr. Valencia Walker to establish Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM).

Through BTM, Marie is dedicated to ensuring that every Black birthing person has access to the necessary resources and support for a safe and empowering birth experience.

BTM offers melanated mamas, mamas-to-be, and those who care for them virtual access to perinatal and pediatric experts. This innovative platform creates vital connections and provides education that empowers Black birthing people to advocate effectively for themselves and their families.

Additionally, Marie co-founded Antonia and Grace Motherhood Concierge, a holistic maternal support service, and is a member of Postpartum Support International.
