Alice Obuobi, MD, MBA
Dr. Alice Obuobi is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. She has over 30 years experience as a Pediatrician and Neonatologist and has practiced medicine is various clinical settings. She was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa and her varied experiences have given her unique perspectives in health disparities and how it affects maternal and infant mortality in marginalized communities. Her current research interest is in the reduction of health disparities in neonatal outcomes for minorities especially black babies who are disproportionately affected.
At BCM, she works closely with the office of Institutional Diversity Inclusion and
Equity as an Inclusion and Equity ambassador and in this role, she has been active in recruitment of medical students and mentoring of Post Baccalaureate students who are Under-represented Minorities in Medicine (UIM) She is an expert on the effects of Implicit Bias and its effects in medical practice.
Dr. Obuobi has an MBA form Rice University in Houston Texas. As a board member of Birthing the Magic Collaborative she brings with her clinical and business experience as well as the passion for the mission for safe birthing experience for mothers.
